The Hadid Sisters Walked The Runway For Marc Jacobs with Partially “Shaved” Heads and Bleached Eyebrows
The twin duo of supermodels Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid debuted on the runway with new looks that reminded us of the early 80s punk scene, complete with shaved heads, bleached eyebrows and short bangs. The funky-futuristic look was part of Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2022 collection, in which the designer brand unveiled more than 40 new looks at the New York Public Library.
The Hadid sisters leave no crumbs when it comes to their work, and it’s safe to say that they’ve executed the American designer’s sartorial interpretations of popular culture trends to perfection.
It turned out that the sisters’ dramatic transformation was achieved by prosthetic artists wearing wigs, bald heads and makeup.
Bella wore a black vinyl dress with opera gloves, while Gigi wore a huge pink sweater and gray skirt.
Models wearing brightly colored monochromatic pieces, including oversized knitwear, voluminous ruffled dresses and spectacular platform boots with dizzying cutouts and space age bangs, joined the Hadids on the runway.
Marc Jacobs makeup artist Diane Kendal and hairstylist Duffy were behind the cool look. Noel Jacoboni, one of the special effects artists responsible for Hadids’ appearances, shared on Instagram that working on the show was “surreal.”
Among netizens, the images elicited mixed reactions, with some thinking the models had actually shaved their heads. Comments from leading fashion figures ranged from “absolutely angelic” to “the transformation is amazing”.
