Ashley Judd Reflects On ‘Private Pain’ In New Op-Ed

Ashley Judd wrote an op-ed piece for the New York Times on Wednesday morning.

The op-ed discusses her grief after her mother died.

She also addressed "the rampant and cruel misinformation that has spread about her death."

When questioned by police the night Naomi died, she said she felt "cornered and powerless."

Her family has asked the court to keep the details of her death private.

"Family members who have lost a loved one are frequently repressed by laws that can expose their most private moments to the public," she wrote.

"I don't know if we'll be able to get the privacy we deserve," she admitted.

Ashley hopes to "reform the law enforcement procedures that cause havoc on bereaved families."

"Those are tragedies, not grist for public display," she wrote.
