Kodak Black arrested in Florida for alleged oxycodone pill possession

Kodak Black was arrested Friday after taking several oxycodone pills at a traffic stop in Florida.

The 25-year-old "Codeine Dreaming" rapper was driving a Dodge Durango in Fort Lauderdale when he was pulled over by police on suspicion of illegal window tinting, according to TMZ.

Police smelled marijuana when he got into the truck. A search of the car turned up 31 oxygen pills and $74,960 in cash, the server said.

Black's license and car tags were also expired, and the rapper was taken to Broward County Jail on unspecified charges, according to the report.

Black, who was born Dieuson Octave and later changed his legal name to Bill Kahan Kapri, had several legal troubles including paying for a stolen car while still in high school.

The Pompano Beach rapper has been in and out of jail for various crimes in his young career.

In 2019, he was arrested for possession of a firearm and sentenced to four years in prison. He served about half of his term before his sentence was overturned by former President Donald Trump.

The Atlantic Records artist avoided further jail time last year by taking a plea deal after being accused of raping a teenager in 2016.
