Britney Spears married her longtime partner Sam Asghari at a ceremony in Southern California several months after the pop superstar freed himself from court conservatism.
Asghari spokesman Brandon Cohen confirmed the couple's marriage. She said, "I'm so glad the day came and they're married. I know she's wanted it for a long time."
The wedding took place nine months after the couple married and almost seven months after Spears' conservatism ended.
As she struggled to end the lawsuit that governs many aspects of her life, Spears expressed a desire to marry Asghari and have children.
The couple met to shoot the video clip "Slumber Party" from 2016.
The wedding was an unexpected drama - Spears' first husband was arrested after he tried to break up her marriage.
Captain Cameron Henderson of the Ventura County Sheriff said police responded to the security breach just after 2 p.m. Thursday.
She said the pop singer's first husband, Jason Alexander, was arrested at the ceremony.
