Carol Burnett Has A Good Shot Of Hosting “Saturday Night Live”
Carol Burnett could be hosting "Saturday Night Live" sooner than we think.
If fans and social media have any say in the matter, which they do, Burnett has a good chance of hosting.
The iconic sketch comedy show has never been hosted by the 89-year-old.
If the legendary comedian does host 'SNL,' she will be the show's oldest female host. Betty White is the current champion.
The Blast has learned exclusively that the show's executive producer, Lorne Michaels, has heard the outpouring of support for Burnett on social media.
"It is still early to see if Carol will host and or be asked to host," a source close to 'SNL' told us. However, if the trend continues, as it did for Betty White, Lorne and the show will make every effort to make it happen."
While Lorne and the show are willing to bring her on, Burnett must also agree to be a part of the show.
"People must also remember that it is a two-way street, and Carol would prefer to do it herself," the source added.
"As of now, there is a possibility, but nothing is certain or set in stone."
