Deals to scoop up for National Ice Cream Day Sunday

It's National Ice Cream Day, and as the price of ice cream rises, companies are offering discounts and Sunday specials.

Since last week's National Friday, companies have been using benefits and offers to build larger customer databases and boost loyalty.

Ice prices rose 12.5% in June with inflation last year and are expected to continue rising, while demand for frozen treats has not dissipated.

In 1984, former President Reagan declared the third Sunday in July to be National Ice Cream Day and the month of July to be National Ice Cream Month.

Regardless of the ice, Sunday is the last day for teachers to save on the Kohl's Teacher Sale and the first day of Target's 15% Teacher Sale.

From Sunday through July 23, Baskin-Robbins will receive $5 for every purchase of $15 or more in store and online.

Use code BECOOLER to calculate online orders and scan a coupon from the chain's app to claim the discount at ice cream stores.

Charleys Rewards members can get $1 off every Sunday sundae, sundae or shake at locations that sell ice cream products with chain app deals.
