Djokovic Relishing Chance To Make More History

Top seed Novak Djokovic revealed he is relishing the opportunity to make Wimbledon history this weekend after beating Cameron Norrie to reach a record 32nd Grand Slam final.

The 35-year-old is looking to win his seventh Wimbledon crown and 21st major title as he bids to close the gap on 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal.

"I know what's at stake. Every match, every Grand Slam I can play at this stage of my career is a lot," Djokovic said at the post-match press conference.

“I don't know how many Grand Slam chances I will get to win the trophy because I will in a few days.

That of course I approach it with [a] positive attitude and confidence and a willingness to win. No doubt about it. "

The Serb, who admitted he was happy to reach another final, will face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the championship match.

It is the first time Kyrgios has contested a Grand Slam final, but Djokovic knows the challenge Kyrgios will present as the 27-year-old leads the top seeds 2-0 in their ATP Head2Head series.

“The experience I have at this level, playing a final against someone who has never played a Grand Slam final, can be a bit of an advantage.
