He has been the voice of Darth Vader since 1977.

However, it looks like he is about to retire.

He transferred the rights to the voice of Darth Vader to Lucasfilm.

The news was reported by Vanity Fair.

A Ukrainian company called Respeaker will keep the character alive.

They use artificial intelligence. Combine programs with pre-recorded audio to create new content.

Lucasfilm has already used Respeech to reproduce voices in The Boba Fett Book and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Fans are sad that Jones is leaving but are excited that Darth Vader will be around for decades to come.
