Jets Bench Zach Wilson, Mike White to Start Vs. Bears

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - Zach Wilson has gone from New York Planes ultimate to elusive bench warmer.

Mentor Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that he has decided to sit Wilson as the starting quarterback against the Chicago Bears and replace him with Mike White.

"Zach's career hasn't happened yet," Saleh said, adding that the deal was to "restore" the sophomore linebacker so Wilson could play again this season.

“It does not mean his death. Joe Flacco will act as White's backup, and Wilson won't be dynamic against the Bears.

Saleh wasn't focused on keeping Wilson in the spotlight Monday after the sophomore quarterback's disappointing performance in the 10-3 Jets.
