John Boyega Was ‘Heartbroken’ By Leaked ‘Star Wars’ Script
Originally, Colin Trevorrow was tapped to direct Episode IX.
He did, however, leave Lucasfilm due to creative differences with President Kathleen Kennedy.
J.J. Abrams was rehired to complete the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
He wrote a completely new script that became "The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019.
Trevorrow's "Duel of the Fates" draught leaked online in 2020.
Many fans, including actor John Boyega, preferred it to Abrams.
Boyega revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he has never read the script.
"I can't read that one because it would break my heart," he explained.
He did, however, state that he saw the concept art and was impressed by the ideas in Trevorrow's script.
