Kevin Durant began his playing career with the "Amateur Sports Association" in Maryland. 

Around the same time, Durant was introduced to future NBA players Gervais Vasquez, Michael Beasley and Ty Lawson. 

He went to the University of Texas to continue his education, where he continued his career as a successful basketball player.
