Texas Secretary Of State John Scott To Step Down At End Of Year

Texas Secretary of State John Scott, the state's top election official, will step down at the end of the year


On Monday, Scott sent a letter of resignation to the governor. says Greg Abbott 

His last day was Dec. 31, according to a copy obtained by The Dallas Morning News

 Scott said in the letter that he believes he has restored confidence in Texas elections

And for his leadership to make a judicial choice

The audit team let him leave the office with pride

With the successful 2022 General Election in the rearview mirror and the final findings of 2020

The forensic audit will be published soon, I am writing to inform you of my intention

Returning to private practice early in the new year,” Scott wrote

In Texas, the Secretary of State is appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Texas Senate
